The way her pieces came together made sense. If she wasn't so engaged, the rest of us would be in trouble. It's a Chelsea book. It's me Chelsea. I said in my review for "Horizontal Life," that I would have loved to be friends with Chelsea Handler while in my twenties, but prefer to read about her from a distance now.
Lies that Chelsea Handler Told Me (A Chelsea Handler Book/Borderline Amazing Publishing). But because it is absolutely hilarious. One point her dog "Chunk" writes a chapter about her.
I've read all of Chelsea's other books.

I laughed the entire way through, even though this time I was not surprised at any of the ridiculous stories I read.
Then came the down fall.... Bang Bang Chelsea Chelsea. Chelsea Handler’s political awakening in the Trump Era serves as the hilariously insightful backdrop for Life With Be The Death of Me, a book in which she chronicles her own journey and our collective insanity with just the right mix of sincerity and snark.”—Jon Favreau, co-host of Pod Save America If the 3rd chapter kept on, I was going to have to stop. Through interactions with her therapist, Chelsea digs into some of the moments in her past that have affected her life the most, chiefly the death of her brother. I really incredible read. Are they really just like us? I laughed for extended periods multiple times while reading this. People who raved about this book may say that I have no sense of humor, but I wonder what is funny about your friend ruining the song you are singing to your brand new husband during your wedding reception, regardless if you can hold a tune or not; making you believe that you are being sued and probably fired for sexual harassement thus ruining your future; spoiling your honeymoon; forging emails to your friends and family that you are pregnant (when you're not); and constantly peeing all over herself and others. If you're looking for fluff, this isn't it, but Handler does, of course, pack in her signature acerbic humor, even when she talks about far more serious stories of her life than in previous books.
I wouldn't say I'm a Chelsea Handler fan because I rarely watched her show on E! This is a compilation of multiple people from Chelsea Handler's life writing about the practical jokes she plays on them. Laugh evoking. Now this is the way to write a book: have your friends, staff and family tell very funny stories about you, or involving you; add a few comments at the end of each story, and cha-ching wait for the cash to role in! So some chapters are super funny and some just made me cringe. She acts as though she is the first person to have ever gone to therapy and while much of this book is a recounting of her sessions, she doesn’t seem to have internalized anything. Disabling it will result in some disabled or missing features. I felt like there were good parts and not so good parts. Both the book and the show are premised around Ms. Handler going to therapy for the first time, but there is an overwhelming lack of self-awareness that made both utterly cringe-worthy.
Some of the "stories" that were written come up again but from the other persons point of view. When this book came out, I was a bit leery. I'm rating this book as amazing not because it has any deep insights, trust me, it couldn't if it tried. She references her wealth a lot; she seems to think calling attention to her privilege makes her enlightened or introspective, but instead it comes off as off-putting and braggadocious.

She's crude, she's brilliant, and she's hilarious. While I chuckled a few times and smiled every couple of chapters, it lacked the side-splitting milk-coming-out-of-your-nose kind of laughter. In July 2007, Chelsea broke into the world of late-night talk shows with her E!
It had its funny points, but not nearly as funny as the first 2 books.
If you're expecting Chelsea, you'll get her. 4.5 stars. I have this love/hate relationship with Chelsea Handler, and this book perfectly illustrated my hate.
quite like Lies that Chelsea Handler Told Me. I'm not sure she knew where she was going with this book and it ended up being part memoir and part humor which never really meshed. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. They should have enough to say about me to fill a whole book, right? Good-spirited. Unless you like your weekends, honeymoons, and general everyday life ruined by her ridiculous and often weirdly cruel practical jokes.
So this book can make you feel grateful for the life you lead, diminish any envy you might feel for celebrity life, provide a little ego-stroking for your superiority complex, and make you laugh. Highly recommend the audiobook in particular, the narration really brings out the emotion in a lot of the subject matter. Anecdote after anecdote of lies and deceptions, although funny, make me think she would have made me cry, given me ulcers, and who knows what else. It's crazy how a. inventive b. creative c. serious and d. careless she is about the lies she tells and the emotions she tears to shreads. Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2011. Let us know what’s wrong with this preview of, Published Most all of her books are definitely for adults only! I have watched Chelsea Handler on Chelsea Lately, and I have read "Are You There Vodka, It's Me Chelsea? Refresh and try again. Couldn't put this book down and re-read several times. If the 3rd chapter kept on, I was going to have to stop. This was quite a bit more serious than I expected, but definitely Handler's best book so far.
On Tuesday, former talk show host Chelsea Handler stripped down nude - yet again - to encourage her 14.4M social media following to read books while hunkered down in COVID-19 quarantine. The authors range from television personality Heather McDonald to her brother Greg, the whole book is very personal and relatable to its readers. The humor level just wasn't on par with her other books. I felt my brain cells dying in agony each time I listened to it. It's a really tender, heartfelt memoir about pain and grief and really examining oneself. Though it's about Chelsea (who is almost always funny), it wasn't written by her and therefore I was suspect. And of course the absolute funniest parts of the book are the short commentaries that Chelsea writes at the end of each chapter! This book is an example of her belief - she gets joy out of messing with her friends, and her friends feel the joy too. (Her fifth book.
It definitely had a lot of funny moments in it. Loved them. Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2019, Shipping took a bit but good book and seller. It made me think and made a great case for therapy being something for everyone.
She introduces you to some of the shenanigans that she has gotten herself into, and also gives you a cute little guide of the names that she has used in previous books for people who want the world to know who they are. Prime members enjoy FREE Delivery and exclusive access to music, movies, TV shows, original audio series, and Kindle books. Delighted with this book. Turns out a book of "humorous" stories told by people who seem to need to be friends with any celebrity isn't interesting. She is one of a kind and just amusing to read about. The problem with having a compilation of stories from different people is that some people are just better writers than others. Reviewed in the United States on June 14, 2018. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness. The first 2 chapters were just wrong. For me, this was the most extreme in terms of crudeness, but that is what makes it my favorite.
This was really excellent and not at all what I expected.
April 9th 2019 ", I'm glad I'm not friends with Chelsea Handler. "Lies That Chelsea Handler Told Me" is once again a great, quick read. It made me uncomfortable, I should not be reading about a little girl who learns to masturbate at 8years old.
When this book came out, I was a bit leery. I was disappointed. Cute book. This book has absolutely no socially redeeming feature, so naturally, I really liked it. This book was included with admission to Chelsea Handler’s most recent live show; the show was not good (there was actual booing!)

Delighted with this book. Reviewed in the United States on July 29, 2011. But because it is absolutely hilarious. They may not always appreciate it at the time (I'm sure I wouldn't either) but it's nice to have that sort of thin.
If you've ever wondered how or why "all" that seems to pile down on this one woman, after reading this book, you'll wonder no more...she welcomes crazy in and then full on embraces it. If it’s not acceptable for them, it’s not acceptable for me.”, “For the record, I would like to state that never in the history of humankind has a woman been told to calm down and then calmed down. Listened to this while driving from Minnesota to Chicago. Delighted with this book. The bad part is that it is also read by the people who wrote each chapter.
and You Too!” as Want to Read: Error rating book. I felt like there were good parts and not so good parts.
Also, my assumption is that "Chesty" wanted each chapter to end that way, as the one message you can't escape from reading this book is that this spoiled, shallow, easily-bored, basic cable personality gets EVERYTHING her way. Just a moment while we sign you in to your Goodreads account. And it certainly has funny moments, but this is not a comedy book. Loved her narration of the audiobook—you could hear the emotion in her voice. Also, she and her friends and co-workers seem deeply immature--often in fun ways, but also really problematic ways, so the book could make. And then Donald Trump happens.
I know my friends wouldn't take it if I tried half of the things she gets away with. This is one of those books that you pick up just knowing it's going to be good and it doesn't disapoint. At first I thought Chelsea was really mean to her friends. But almost all of the co. I stopped reading at paragraph 2 when she makes reference to her 2 assistants. I should probably be in thera. I would totally recommend it, but just know going in that it will not be as hilarious as a Chelsea original. Not a funny book unless you enjoy reading about others being embarrassingly pranked and taking it.
